Stainless Steel — The Ideal Pool Material
Choosing the right stainless steel for your pool is critical to long-term performance, safety, and appearance.
Two key factors influence material selection:
- Water temperature (set by the client)
- Chloride and chemical content (determined through water analysis)
Stainless Steel Grades We Use
Today, over 80% of stainless steel pools are built using 1.4404 (AISI 316L) — a high-performance chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel offering excellent corrosion resistance in most environments.
In more specific cases, we use other alloys tailored to the pool conditions:
- 1.4404 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2) - Ideal for pools filled with water of drinking water quality.
- 1.4462 (X2CrNiMoN22-5-3) - Used for thermal and therapeutic pools or those with moderate salinity.
- 1.4547 (X1CrNiMoCuN20-18-7, 254 SMO) - Designed for high-chloride environments or areas with limited cleaning access.
Complementary Materials
